Good price in the SF Bay Area?
I'm going to be in the market for an '03 S2000 pretty soon and was wondering if anyone knows a dealer that will give me a fair price? I see people on the east cost getting their cars for a couple hundred over invoice, is that possible out here? Thanks in advance.
If you're serious about saving money, buy from Chicago or Boston and have it shipped. I found invoice and below in both areas. Shipping runs from about $800-1500 depending on open carrier or closed carrier.
If you want to order one, you can probably go with an open transport as long as they keep all the protective paper on.
I figured for a brand-new '03, it would cost me $29,785 (invoice) plus $800 = $30,585. I doubt ANY California dealer's gonna go there.
Honda of Joliet seems to be a good dealer that people have had good luck with ... I got my new '02 from Honda Cars of Boston. PM me if you want more details.

DON'T GO TO HONDA of OAKLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hear Mike Harvey in San Mateo is having a sale, although this was a while back they are a very reputable dealership for both Honda/Acura.
Might wanna check 'em out.

Depends on the color you want, too. Forget MSRP on Suzuka, they will add a few grand. Spa, too. If you're looking for red, black or silver, you may get lucky. Not sure about white, they're just about as rare as blue. Check outside the Bay Area, like perhaps the Central Valley. That way, you can enjoy a nice drive north and break-in your new S nicely.

It looks like their site is currently down http://www.hondanorthdirect.com but you might try emailing them or giving them a call.
Good luck

A short while back Blair was offering MSRP to board members, you could PM him...Blair Morrow is his handle on s2ki. He's also the community organizer of or Sacramento Forum.
of course dealerships in the bay area aren't going to offer a sale at msrp or less. if that's something you come to expect, you're destined to pay more regardless of where you go. letting a dealer tell you that suzuka, spa, or any other color is going to cost you more is, again, just another way for a salesman to tag on any extra profit that he/she can. if you honestly believe you must pay more for one color over another, then the salesmen have already won before you even step foot on the lot.
i worked the price down on my S2000 that i bought last month without any difficulties. i purchased the car from an SF bay area dealership. if you are having trouble locally, i'd suggest doing what s2k_redhead is doing. that's what i did with my first S2000 when i made the mistake of trying to find one at MSRP during the summer season.
dont settle for MSRP. you can do better.
