Is this a good price for tires?
Okay, I've got a healthy 16,000 miles on my stock s-02's and decided it's time for new tires.
Checked out tirerack.com for the Dunlop SP9000 and the total came to around $550.00, shipped. Not bad. Then I called America's Tire Co to see how much mounting, etc would add up to and they quoted me $115.00 bringing me up to $665 ish.
So I told america's about Tireracks price (and the fact the tire isn't acually availible) and after talking with the guy I got him to quote me $677.00 shipped, taxed, mounted, out the door.
So, is $677.00 a pretty decent price for the SP 9000 in stock sizes, out the door?
Thanks!

deadpedal,
If you did it yourself through tire-rack...it would be $550 plus around $80 for mount + balance. Total = ~ $650.00.
But, you have to order the tires...and bring them from you house to the Discount tire.
By the way, why you are not staying with the S02's?

I'm not going with the s-02's partly because I have a 60mi commute everyday (I got my '01 in late December, now have just over 16,000mi on it). And I wanted something that offered good performance and longer tread wear than the s-02's. I plan on getting a 2nd car mid summer though, so my next set will be the s-03's and since those are so expensive, I thought I'd go for a cheaper tire this time...

Understood. By the way...you should go 245/45/16 in the rear instead of the stock 225/50/16 if you are not going for the S02's.
Do you like the Bridgestone RE730's?
245/45/16 SP9000 = $172
205/55/16 SP9000 = $115
total = $574
245/45/16 RE730 = $123
205/55/16 RE730 = $110
total = $466
