Default Good trade value??

Hey guys....I have a 2000 white/red with 39000 miles....I was looking to get the acura TSX next month and am kind of trying to sell my S .....The Acura dealer here is offering me $21K with a $1000 discount on the TSX; does anyone think that's a good deal......I have a guy that wants to buy it from me for $22k but I wind up saving more in taxes if I trade....Do you think selling on my own would yield better results if I kept looking for another buyer?? Any advice?

The trade in sounds pretty good to me. Like you said, you'll save a good amount in taxes too since you'll only have to pay taxes on the difference.

i think 21k would be a good deal. if you try to sell private party, you can get another 1-2k at the most but would have to go through more hassle.

that sounds like an awesome deal...i would imagine a new TSX with no trade could be had for $1500 off....but... you get the tax benefit like you stated, plus you would probably have a hard time getting more than $21k selling it privately...especially with that many miles.

I also have to wait for actual prices for the TSX to come out...At this point, they do not even know specific MSRP but are willing to deal.

Why do you want a TSX? Didnt review well in Car and Driver. I would get the Accord Coupe 6 Speed....or maybe a CL type S. I guess your looking for sedan instead of a coupe.

For some reason, the back of the Accord looks BLAH to me. I had an Integra before the S and loved it. I figure at the TSX must somewhat compare. I did read the article you're refering to as well but am going to wait to judge till I get to actually drive the car. Does the Accord sedan even come V6 6-spd or only the coup? Also, what is pricing like on the Accord....I would think that the V6 six speed must be in great demand...Whatdya think?

The TSX is great! I had the chance to look at one in person from the local auto show. I would take it over the accord, and the price is a few k cheaper than the TL.

Hey Snoop, when are you looking to get a new car?? Because by the end of this month, or beginning of May, I will be in the market for a S, just like yours!! I love the white/red S2K!! Let me know.

I agree that the rear of the sedan looks blah...though I am getting used to it. I was referring to the Accord Coupe which rear looks like a Mercedes. You can get the Coupe in a V6 6 Speed which comes in leather, 17 inch tires, and tighter suspension. The V6 for the sedan is only automatic, you can get an EX with leather and navigation which is a 4 banger with manual.

According to the dealer ....each dealer gets only 2 V6 coupes per dealer lot. I do not know if he was BSing me or not. He was saying they would go above sticker...but you gotta shop around.

This "2 per dealer" seems to be bull. My dealer has sold his first and has a second already. He says he will get at least 2 more this model year.
