Default To good to be true?

I found A s2000 02 with 37 thousand miles asking $7200. Reason for sale is the owner moved to united kingdom and could not take the car. I have a vin # but what exactly could i find out with the vin. i also recieved pictures car is clean, is it weird that the phone number isnt working or am i over reacting, they claim it was an accident and they put the wrong number down.

This is a very common scam. Let me guess. He wants you to wire the money Western Union to a claimed escrow account. You will never see the car or your money again.

I'd love to see one of these story's come true.
Tell the guy you'll meet him at the local DMV with cash and of course, bring the car, registration and title..

Thats what I thought, no mention of money payment yet although they stated they would meet in person. Theres no way im about to spend a penny on this thing and it does sound extremely stupid to even consider it , but what if it is legit? how would i go about checking this out?

^^ask for a test drive.

tell him you have money in hand and you want to test drive it and if you like it you'll buy it on the spot and drive it back home.
