Default Is this to good to be true? need insights...

I was browsing around autotrader.com and found this vehicle and then i went ahead and called the dealership and they said that they just got the car in and should be ready by next week...

I requested the CARFAX report and the car had one owner and is FREE of any accidents and is still under the 36,000 factory warranty.

Now, i check the value of the car and its at 27,000+ for an 2007 S with 15,xxx miles in the ODO.

Is this a great deal or a bit fishy.. i'm going to check the car next week when they get it in. ive heard of stories were owners dont report accidents and i'm going to check for any work done to the car as far as frame damage, unmatched body panels and VIN numbers etc.

(2007 Sebring Silver S2000, 15,xxx miles, for 17,995)

The book value of $27k is way inflated, but $18k is very low for an 07. What's your location? s2ks are worth different amounts depending on where you are in the country. Can you post the ad in AT?

Check for signs of abuse: extensive mods, body damage, etc. I'd do a compression test too if you're serious.

I would buy this car. If you wont then some one else will. Jut because i priced low doesn't necessary mean it have problems. just run car fax, check out the car. If everything is working properly then buy it. Since it an 07 it still got warranty

finding a $20k deal wouldn't surprise me. $18k does sound a little too good to be true.

but that doesn't mean it isn't.

Too low. In the southeast 2 weeks ago when I bought my 06, the lowest I could find was my 06 which was 20,400 out the door for 30,000 miles silverstone/red black. Approach with caution.

I found an S2k on autotrader that sounds like this one.

http://tinyurl.com/nq6cjp

The vin is JHMAP21437S004232. This is in the Autocheck:

07/03/2009 PACIFIC SW REGION
Auto Auction AUCTION ANNOUNCED AS FRAME DAMAGE

yea i remember some guy saying how he test drove a pretty new laguna and although it looked good on the outside it drove weird...i would check it out extensively and maybe even hire one of those specialists that come with you for a fee...

remember, if it's too good to be true it usually is

Definitely a fishy price, but the deal of a century if it's a clean car!

Most likely to have a car valued that low, it's going to be a salvage. If the title is clean and carfax is clean, keep in mind that a lot of people will repair their car outside of insurance, and carfax will remain clean.

Check the body panel edges, and under the hood for paint overspray, lumps, suspicious spot welds, or paint chipped/missing from the hex bolts holding the front bumper/apron of the car together. Make sure airbags haven't deployed, if any dash parts have fitment issues or is a slightly different shade than the rest of the matching pieces, chances are the airbags have been deployed.

Be careful. An 07 S2k with 15k miles can easily fetch 22k, so there is definitely a reason it is going way below kbb.
