Saturday the 8th my s2k laid to rest I'm sorry to say. Please do not let the same thing happen to you.

I made the fatal mistake of putting 245/45/16 Bridgstone potenza RE730's in the back the day before and leave the stock SO2's on the front. The handelling went to hell!

In a manuver to avoid hitting a car that cut me off as soon as I was changing lanes I tired getting back to my lane (@ 40 MPH) and the tail came loose. I did a few 360's, breaking off the front right axel hitting a curb, then slammed while spinning into a big tree and finally taking down a traffic sign, before ending up on the opposite side of the street .

I knew my S2K and it was a manuver that it could handle easily with the stock tires...

My s2k is now totaled :-( But fortunatly I didn't hit any other cars and besides body aches I'm OK.

Please do not make the same mistake I made.

So long,
Allen

glad to see you're alright. hope no other parties were injured/involved too. give yourself sometime, then head to the local dealership and see if the feeling behind the wheel of an S still moves you.

Glad to hear you are OK Allen. Tires are very import fact for FR cars. I got in my first accident due to my tires. I ran all season tires but drove is like I was on my stock. (big mistake)

An unfortunate lesson Glad to hear you're alright.

When ever you are on new tires, you need to wait for them to break in. The firest few hundred miles they will not be as sticky as they would be if they were worn in. Additionally, you had sticky rubber on the front and a back end that was loose.

If you ever ride a motorcycle, this is double important since you only have 1/2 the tire/contact potential.
