They are doing a good job.

I just would like an answer to the question;

What is the criteria for a thread to be in Car Talk?

I would like to know why they moved my thread "The Intangibles" to "Off Topic" when it is clearly not. Seems discriminatory to me and others as well.

Could it be that any post not advocating purchasing aftermarket parts angers the sponsors and gets banished? I certainly hope not but in lieu of an answer that is the only explaination I can think of.

Once again WHAT IS THE CRITERIA?

Diliodoir

What happened? I noticed only one post which appeared to be improperly categorized, Bieg's most recent. Why don't we discuss this so the members can reach some consensus. I'm sure the administrators will follow such a consensus. If not, then there are alternatives....

There have been several. One that has been mentioned in addition to Bieg's is a thread about polishing Mingster's dead pedal. One moderator decided we wouldn't be interested in it and that somehow a dead pedal specifically designed for the S2K was not S2K related so he moved it to another forum. As I've expressed in other threads this random decision making on moving threads has been getting worse as of late. I think the moderators need to decide what criteria they are going to use, publish that criteria, and consistently abide by those decisions, instead of each moderator using his own (and obviously sometimes flawed) judgement as the only criteria. It's quite ambiguous and I agree with Bieg (a first) and Dliodor on this issue. I also think the moderators and cthree have treated Dlioroir's comments with complete disrespect. There is still no explanation other than "I moved them in a brief flash of insanity". It seems to me we are entitled to a little better explanation than that.

Other than the "Temporary Insanity" response I have yet to have my questions answered on why "The Intangibles" was moved.

Here's a few more -

Special Rear Bumper - a post by Cthree of all people with a picture of a blue S2K with a different bumper than we have. Apparently a post about an S2K's rear bumper is OT. But Cthree didn't think so when he posted it. Did he or another mod move it?

Car and Driver critique - A post about a magazine article that talks about the S2K. Hmmm....Apparently magazine articles that talk about the S2K are off topic now.

Car and Driver tv on TNN - A post about the 10 best show featuring the S2K on TNN. Apparently television shows that feature the S2K are off topic as well.

You don't see these posts because they're on page two of the car talk forum because they've been moved. So here are three, what I would consider to be completely on topic threads, that are encountering the same fate as was the reasoning for creating multiple forums - to keep the on topic stuff from falling down the list before we could read them. There must be some irony here somewhere.

Maybe we just need someone to explain to us what exactly would be considered ON TOPIC.

I guess I'm just at a loss as to why this is such a big deal to you guys. It's not as if these posts are being deleted. They are being moved, which it seems to me, is the perfect right of the moderators here. I don't get why some of your panties have found their way into your keesters. Call me crazy, but I have far bigger problems to be concerned and/or worried about.

Has there been some miscommunication as to what the criteria are, then I would suggest that you get clarification. Censorship? Man, I'm still trying to figure out how this amounts to censorship...

This just in from the Busy Creator in respose to my question,

The final answer is;

Sorry for taking a whole 2 hours to respond since I got out of bed this morning. While the mega important issue of the intangible benefits of the S2000 has languished in OT I have selfishly taken a shower, got dressed, checked and responded to email, driven to work, explained being an hour late, offered detailed status of my projects and explained why a two week project started a week ago wont ship to customers today. It's totally unforgivable.

To answer your question I moved your thread because I felt it was conversational and not
informational. It was a list of your opinions regarding the intangible benefits in owning an S2000 and solicitation of further opinion. Incidently, the majority of the responses you refer to came while in the OT forum. It was moved at about 11PM.
I KNOW one subject that will NEVER be moved to "Off Topic" and that is anything advocating the purchase of a Sponsors Product.

Anything advocating leaving it stock will be moved I am sure.
