Goodbye my friends
Forgive me for the corny title.
I have had my '01 for 3 + years and today I traded it in on a RX-8.
I like the S2000 better as it is faster and sexier. However, my wife is expecting our first child next month and I really needed to have a car that I could take both my wife and child in.
I just want to say that the S2000 has the best community of any car I have owned and it was truly a pleasure meeting and talking with many of you.
I hope that one day I will be able to get another S2000 but for now, I got the closet I could get and still have back seats.
Best of luck to all!
Thanks,
Dean29

Yes it is very close in that right now they are both classified as BS (B Stock) for SCCA Solo 2 (autocross). So, you can race against your S2000 buddies. However, you'll have to wait until your child is 12 (to be eligible) before your whole family can ride with you at the autocross.
I sold my Mazda RX-7 in 1989 a while after my daughter was born, however, I bought a Mazda 626. I had been autocrossing for about two years at that point.

Fifteen plus years later...
My daughter just got her license in May and that was my excuse to by my S2000, got it the same day she took her driving test. I just did my second autocross Sunday and my son (12) and daughter now ride with me (not at the same time)! Next I have to convince her to drive her own car at the autocross.
Good luck with your family.

congratulations on the new kid!...RX-8 is nice if you've gotta have three seats.
I have a 17 yo , a 3 yo & a wife ... the wife uses the Jeep - the little one loves to go in the black Honda as often as we can go for joy rides ...
I was feeling a bit of buyers remorse about the 2 seat convertible not be able to do a 3 some - thinking I might have been a bit too selfish & perhaps should have gone with a RX-8 or a G35 and my wonderful wife was very consoling...knowing how much I love 2 seat convertibles and the S2000 in particular - she told me that my fun in the S was for myself and sharing with the kids one at a time when I could - that we didn't all have to be together all of the time- the S was a thing for me and for sharing with the kids. She was really cool about it.
Just my story - sorry to take slightly off track.
