2 reasons: It feels just as quick unless you go over 7k rpm and I'm no longer constantly worried that the Vortech will pack it in.

I'm a pretty outspoken hater of the Vortech kit. The fasteners used are of inferior quality. I had oil leaks, broken bolts, stripped boltholes - you name it. The severe harmonic vibrations from a 25,000rpm impeller strapped to a 9000rpm motor pretty much shook it all apart.

If you just have to boost, do it right and go with a custom Turbo kit done by a competent tuner, or else the Inline Pro kit. Plan on spending $10k as the bare minimum. And don't forget that, by the time it's done, you probably could have just gotten a Cayman S...
Sorry to hear about that. I wonder if any other kits are better. Supercharger kits are generally praised for their reliability. It's turbos that really give people trouble down the road.

Hmm.....I've read about plenty of s2k's that have been reliably supercharged.

Sorry to hear you had a crap experience with it man.

Awesome car!

I really feel what the OP is saying. I turbo'd my S2000 and had it that way for 2 years. I quickly fell out of love with the car, constantly worrying if something goes wrong. (Luckily it never did). I went back to stock and I really enjoy the car more. It's the way Honda engineered it, which I respect.

With my C6 and I've been telling myself I'm not going to touch it, it's fast enough.. leave it stock.. we'll see. Congrats again on the new Bimmer.

Nice Ride! Can you get the M6 with a stick? I'm surprised you compromised with the SMG. $50 grand in mods, thats nuts, and your right no point in sells, there is no way to get that money back.

Sounds like you had something wrong with your kit or something.. Don't think many people have had many if any issues with their kits. Very reliable setups on the S! Basically as reliable as NA.

Congrats on the new car looks great!! Boo to auto though haha.
