Cover the hole? I thought another bung needed to be fabricated onto the intake to accommodate the new sensor.

Don't know if this helps or not:
MY04

I don't recall the resonator being oval though. I could have sworn it was round.

thanks for the photo. seems those of us with '06 models are SOL on several of the simple aftermarket bolt-on goodies.

Yeah, the shape of the helmholtz is what I was looking for. Based on that picture (thanks Cyclon36 -- sorry about the car though), it sure looks round. That means the artwork in the Helms shop manual is wrong, which means we still have a mystery.
My next challenge is to see if I can get a picture of my car's underside in a manner not as, um, dramatic as Cyclon36's...

It's been almost two years since I looked at the resonator but I still have it at home so I can check, but I'm almost positive that on my '04 (and from the looks in the pic) it IS oval. It's just not nearly as flat as the main canisters though (somewhat oval?
). In that pic it looks to show that the helmholtz is indeed a round piece of pipe too.

Yes, the exhaust itself appears to be the same, but the undercarriage has some differences which could be causing the problem.
When it gets here (I'm estimating mid-April) I'll post about my experiences here so other '06 owners will have a good feel for what they'd face if they went with an aftermarket exhaust...Ed
