A quote from Road & Track when the S2000 was first introduced. "The S2000 will eat a Miata for lunch and wont even bother spitting out the bones".

i'd take the manual operated top from the miata though....with the requisite price and weight drop of course.
I'm with you 100%. Having a power top on the S is just silly. Give me a lighter, simpler, and more reliable manual top any day. Also, as you say, would drop the price, and lower the car's center of gravity ever-so-slightly. It's a win-win-win situation.

For that 13 lbs of weight reduction, you could just go on a diet. =-)

Since we're on the "never seen one" conversation, as a funny side note at Pepp boys I had a guy look at me and say

Him "I've never seen a honda like that, is that the new prelude?"

me "Uh, no its an s2000"

Him "ya, its a 2000, but what kinda prelude is that?"

me "Its a honda s2000, been building them for like 5-6 years now"

Him " Oh, this is the first time I've left home in about 4 years"

He seemed very happy to be out and about the though.
