Default Got my first ticket in the S this morning....

I was headed to work on I-20. Frustrated as usual because of all the idiots that like to park in the passing lane. As soon as it opened from 2 lanes to 3, I hit it to get around said idiots. Little did I know that a motorcycle cop (which you barely see) was parked under an overpass. Pulls me over and I did the standard "yes, sir" and "no,sir"s. Bottom line, he clocks me doing 81/60. Which he said was a $235/6-point ticket. Writes me up for 69/60. $81.50 and 2 points. Considering it could have been much worse, I'm ok with the ticket I got. It's the first ticket I've gotten in years.

Ya 2008 CBR1000RR is a douche. This is S2000 Talk...you talk about anything...if you don't find something interesting hit the Back button. Yeah, I've gotten all my tickets knocked down luckily.

I got lucky yesterday...I was merging onto a freeway and the damn prius or something crappy was going so slow, so I cut over in front of an 18 wheeler (slightly recklessly) and then into the next lane (same). Then I looked to the left and there was a cop in the median. So I stay in that lane just going 50/55 and I see him turn on his lights and start heading my way. So as I was sitting there cursing, he suddenly turned them off and pulled back off the road. Whew!

Sorry about the ticket. You gotta watch for those motorcycle cops, they're invisible.

I only got one ticket in my S so far...

And yeah it was interesting.

You hammer-- if everyone only posted extremely relevant information on this forum all it would be is FAQs and DIYs. Why'd you come in here if you didn't think it was going to be interesting?

OP: you're super lucky

Still get a lawyer - try hard to get that moving violation changed to a non-moving violation and save some money with insurance hikes. I'd argue its hard to speed in rush hour traffic,

If there's one thing I've learned about driving in the US, its to speed in the "slow" lanes and when traffic is moderate to heavy so you're covered. The left lane is the first place cops look.

I've owned my S2000 for 3.5 years and put about 25,000 miles on it in that time and have yet to even be pulled over! :knocksonwood:

I think Silver cars attract way less cop attention. I was pulled over about 3 times a year when I was driving an electron blue Honda Prelude.
