A local member to me made 215 whp on a stock 05 AP2 with around 5k miles on the odo. These numbers were on a dynojet. I'll see if I can find his plot. I want to say he posted it here.

215whp on a typical DynoJet is about 205whp on a typical DynoDynamics.

As stated in the OP, I have an AEM v2, Ricks Plus 6 Header, and a SuperSprint Exhaust. None of the mods I have are known to raise peak horsepower (Ricks Plus 6 is a Mugen clone, and gives mid range; the SuperSprint exhaust makes something like 1hp). I don't have a test pipe because they're sort of strict in the DC Metro area about emissions. If I were to get the Mugen AP2 Header, or the J's Racing Header + a single outlet exhaust and test pipe, I might make some more impressive peak horsepower numbers.

But I don't know if you'd easily make 225-230whp on a Dyno Dynamics dyno without something more than I/H/E/TP. On a DynoJet dyno I might already be seeing close to that, on a DynaPack dyno I'm probably making more than 250 hp at the hub.

Peak horsepower is just for bragging rights, the important part is seeing the power I gained from my stock ECU to the AEM EMS -- and there are pretty significant gains imho.
You're saying that peak hp is not important, which it isn't... but having more peak torque is important.

I know because when I got my car tuned, a lot of power was found in the 5500 to 6500 RPM range but after that, it kind of feels like the surge of power disappears, which stinks.

I mean granted, it does make about 3 more wtq at redline, but that's not enough considering the torque actually drops from about 6500 RPM to redline.

I ask because he mentioned it backfired at partial throttle decelerating and was told that's normal. If the car was only tuned on the dyno it'll only really run clean at full throttle. I usually spend at least an hour or two street tuning at partial throttle before giving the car the full throttle tune on the dyno.

kinda like when turbo guys chip there cars and get a nice midrange gain, but tq falls to redline.

I've been told that my car shoots a small flame out the back when I'm at WOT and taking it to redline. I guess a little bit of fuel is not being burned and gives a little show on its way out... haha.

Sure you're not bouncing the limiter? That'll usually shoot a flame.

You can do partial throttle tuning on a load bearing dyno like a Dyno Dynamics dyno I thought? My tuner said he tuned WOT throttle first and then tuned part throttle / off throttle, on the dyno.
