Drive it for a week to settle or more. When i used to have those, the car still had the gap but after a few days the car even out.

Mine came out even, and after about a week, it settled quite low. Can't even put a finger under either fender. It's about half to 2/3rd of a finger space. Pretty low. I'll try to get pics later.

Preloading applies to any suspension install.

The idea is to put the jack under the lower arm and raise suspension with the wheel off all the way up off the regular jack.

You are trying to simulate the car being on the ground.

This is when you tighten any bolts.

How bad is the bumpsteer really with these springs? I have a set sitting in my closet and I really do not want to have to buy anything else to make these work out well.
