First thing, read the owner's manual. It's got all kinds of info in it, including oil change intervals.
Don't change your oil at 600 miles. I changed mine first at 3750.
There are more threads on oil here than anything else. Read a bunch of 'em and make up your own mind. There's enough expert opinions in them to confuse anyone.
DO CHECK THE OIL LEVEL FREQUENTLY. Every fill up according to the manual. I got a couple of quarts of Honda 10W-30 oil from the dealer. I used almost a full quart before my first oil change.
Have fun.

absolutely do not change it at 600 miles, unless it takes you a year to get the 600 miles!!
i changed mine the first time about 5000 miles... went synthetic at 10,000 miles.
you want plenty of miles on the "break-in" oil. as above post indicates, read the manual and follow the advice there.

I just changed my oil at 3400 miles this weekend, its hard to resist not changing it after 600 but I followed the break-in rules sort of. I went 300 miles early and changed it anyways.

Treat your car with respect and do what is mandatory in Australia if you want to keep your warranty - change your oil at 600 miles!
I still cannot believe the nonsense I hear bandied aroud on this site that changing the oil at less than 3,750 miles is going to damage your vehicle.
My owned-from-new S2000 is now coming up for 63,000ks and 4 years and 3 months of ownership and has never, I repeat NEVER, used a drop of oil between its regular 5,000km (3,125 mile) oil changes.
