[B]Well, after months of deliberation (during which time this site has been an OUTSTANDING resource ), I finely bought an '03 Silverstone/Black!

Trouble is, it's in Cleveland OH, and I'm in Raleigh, NC. Generally not a big deal since I have family up there that I need to visit anyway, however the dealer said the car was under about a foot of snow right now, and this thread scared the crap out of me:

wait a few days, the roads will be clear and dry, sooner or later, and drive it home. why risk a mishap with a flatbed trailer. peace of mind.

I'm happy to report that that's exactly what I did! Ice Storms hit N.C. on Wednesday, and power was out all over the area with up-time expected to be several days. By Thursday, the roads were clear, but work was closed (no electricity). What to do???? GO GET THE S, OF COURSE! Picked up my dad Friday Morning and headed to Ohio in the Ram, just in case I would need to tow it back. As it turned out, the roads were excellent so I was able to drive her home! We made a whirlwind visit with relatives in Cleveland, Akron, and Marietta, and made it back to Raleigh today.

The odometer hit 600 between Winston Salem and Greensboro. Can you say VTEC! WOOHOO!!!

I even came back to a house with power! (We still have upwards of 100,000 people in the area without electrical service. Ice Storms can really be a B!tch!)

Congratuations on your decision, as well as on your color choice.

I still get yellow envy now and then but I love the luminescence of Silverstone Metallic. I was almost sad to learn that Silverstone is the name of a race track, and not some precious metal more wonderful than platinum or titanium or transparent aluminum.

Nice story. I used to live in Raleigh and have experienced the nasty ice storms that can hit. Your lucky to have power within few days after a bad storm.

Enjoy your new ride!
