Well congrats on your freebie, and be careful not to get pulled over anymore!! I have finally learned my lesson after years and years of tickets and heart achs. My recent ticket and hope to be my last was one I received back in the summer for 83 in a 35 but it's behind me now so all is good...just as long as I don't get another one in the next 3yrs.

I was pulled over in my MY01 once...It was dusk and there was a trooper in front of me...he slowed and let me pass, followed me through a left-turn at an intersection and then pulled me over...

Asked for license and reg - asked if my headlights were factory or aftermarket - i told him factory and he went and looked at them...

Trooper: They look a little blue
Me: They are HID headlights. Kind of purple.
Trooper: (Looked at license and reg and handed them back) Hmpf...I'm the only one on the road who should have blue lights.

Shook his head and started back to his car, then, without looking at me said: Have a nice day!

Redneck geezer trooper - hehe...

FBI: what the hell are you doing?
Me: driving like a total asshole - Im sorry.
FBI: laughed (other guy with gun still on me)
Gimme your license... I'll be back

He let me go... but now I drive very slooooowwwww
He pulled a gun on you just for speeding!?

How fast were you going...(maybe he thought you were under the influence) and did you pull over right away?

I've yet to get pulled over in the S, but if I did and it was a reasonable couple miles over I'd just be like "Officer, I have a digital mph indicator with bright orange letters (pointing at the dash), I swear I was only going ...blah blah" I'm sure they rarely see this?

Or just "Show me the gun then!"

Oh yeah, that will work!

Cop's next words will be: "Get out of the car!"

i got a ticket the very night i bought my car! 10 hours into my drive back from texas, i accidently missed some checkpoint signs. i didn't even pass the officers, but it ended up being a $75 ticket and a 3 month suspension that i found out about 5 months after paying the ticket. complete BS. i finally got it back yesterday.

That's gotta be the best response ever given to an officer.

I've yet to get pulled over in the S, only been pulled over once. I was going about 120 in my dad's Legend when I saw the car. He still got me at 87 in a 55, read me the riot act about driving stupidly with little experience (I was 16). 15 minutes after I got home he showed up to let my parents know what I did. Mom started screaming at me with dad chiming in enough to have the cop tear up the ticket. He said it was his personal thing to talk to parents when he pulls over their kid, and usually the kids get a slap on the wrist. He could tell mine were taking it much further.

Didn't drive the rest of the summer, but being grounded 2 weeks saved me a lot of money in the long run. And nearly 10 years later I can honestly say I don't have any tickets on my record.

About the ciggarette, I purposefully threw it out in full view of his headlights so that he could see that I wasnt trying to hide/ditch anything.
It doesn't sound like you were driving in an unsafe manner and the office seems to have made his point in an appropriate and professional manner. Smoking cigarettes is the real problem. Those damn things are bad for your health, bad for your looks, bad for your sex-life and they make your S smell bad too. Have fun driving and consider throwing the cigarettes away before you light'em next time.
