Default Got rejected at a carwash today...

I do interior, windows and waxing myself but when it comes to washing, I get very lazy so I take my car to these places. The one I usually goto closed at 6pm so I went to a different one today.
When I went there, the guy was staring blank in the skies and won't look so I opened the window and told him that I want to get my car washed. Then he went in to grab some odd looking lead pipe and started sticking it in under my car. Then he said my car is too low and that he is sorry
Did anyone else have this happen? I haven't lowered or even did anything to my car yet. I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow. Some black juice stain is coming down from side mirrors now that it hasn't been washed for a week.

That was my first thought when I saw the thread title.

Plus the guy at the carwash doesn't want to be liable for any damage to your car. It is pretty low compared to other cars. He's just covering his back.

Don't they have hand car washes in Wisconsin? I usually do it myself, but occasionally in the dead of winter, will go to indoor heated hand car wash done by professionals... for ~$9.

Yeah Octopus car wash has auto wash with hand towel drying. They use all ex-cons. I lived in Madison from 1982-1999 (student....worker).

Up in Green Bay it is all kids.

Got my GTP washed at the PDQ up here....and I watched in horror as they didn't remove my car fast enough and a pickup was pushed repeatedly into the back of my 1 1/2 year old car. I was pissed even though they repaired the damage, but he didn't even give me anything free (like 10 free car washes) for my trouble.

Oh, I thought I just had to avoid those automated wash thing at gas stations. I saw some z4 dude washing his car at those car wash places so I thought it was ok.

What do I need if I wash the car myself? Just a bucket, a water tap and few towels? I bought one of those wheel clean sprays but I don't know what kind of soap I need. Can I buy those soap they sell at Wal-Mart? And what towel shall I use? I've been using those micro-fiber towel for everything but I think it's too small for the entire body, maybe even for the wheels.

I guess now this post don't belong here, please move this thread to wash n wax for me, thanks!

Dude man, you should spend some serious time reading in Wash and Wax... or your car is going to look like crap very soon.

You (or your parents) spent good money on the car, don't be cheap or cut corners on detailing it.

I know a guy who used dish soap on his car for years because he thought it was "gentle on the hands." The dumba$$ stripped his wax and peeled his paint off by the 3rd season.

And BTW, don't get your oil changed at Jiffy Lube.

Or your hair cut at Supercuts... oh wait... too late...

Just kidding!

That happened to me once in my GSR and I had a line of cars behind me that had to back up. It sucked.
