Got rejected at a carwash today...
Ehh... I don't mean dish soaps, I meant those bottles of concentrated car wash soap.
I agree with supercut and all the local haircut places. So I need to shell out 120 bucks every month so I can get my hair done nicely at those asian stores in Chicago ^^ Well the price includes magic perm (to make my hair ultra straight).
btw the kid in the picture is not me ><

Oh, I thought I just had to avoid those automated wash thing at gas stations. I saw some z4 dude washing his car at those car wash places so I thought it was ok.
What do I need if I wash the car myself? Just a bucket, a water tap and few towels? I bought one of those wheel clean sprays but I don't know what kind of soap I need. Can I buy those soap they sell at Wal-Mart? And what towel shall I use? I've been using those micro-fiber towel for everything but I think it's too small for the entire body, maybe even for the wheels.
I guess now this post don't belong here, please move this thread to wash n wax for me, thanks!

Definitely visit wash & wax. Two buckets would be preferable. Dish soap if you plan to wax your car during that detail session, specially formulated car soap if not. Your user's manual has a bit about not using commercially available wheel cleaners because it may ruin the finish. I prefer to use a drying towel like a chamois. And please - if you ever drop a sponge on the ground - NEVER use it again.
That Z4 dude was lazy. One of my friends has one. If he even thought about doing that I'd scold him big time. Or take his car away from him. For a month. Or something.

Don't even get me started on detailing... If you wanna get your service done at a dealership, fine. I take it there 99% of the time.... but when it comes to detailing that's just omsething you need to do. I've posted before about these guys I see on Porshe forums and NSX Prime that talk about "Oh so and so did a great job washing my car..." You paint is one of the most valuable assets of your car, and it is very easy to neglect it and, well, basically ruin it. Every one should read up more on detailing. I'm such a big advocate of detailing your own car simply because I enjoy it so much... Try spending about 6 hours (I know it sound like a lot, but it really can take that long for a full job) on your car and tell me you don't feel better afterwards. I know I do.

I do interior, windows and waxing myself but when it comes to washing, I get very lazy so I take my car to these places. The one I usually goto closed at 6pm so I went to a different one today.
When I went there, the guy was staring blank in the skies and won't look so I opened the window and told him that I want to get my car washed. Then he went in to grab some odd looking lead pipe and started sticking it in under my car. Then he said my car is too low and that he is sorry
Did anyone else have this happen? I haven't lowered or even did anything to my car yet. I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow. Some black juice stain is coming down from side mirrors now that it hasn't been washed for a week.

lol. It should only be handwashed, treat it like a modern art masterpiece pleassse
I'm still confused.
Ok first of all, I never take my car to those automated wash cubicle that is attached to those major gas stations. The ones that cost between 5-7 dollars.
The one I take my car to is the one that says 'hand wash' but it does go through some place where it gets sprinkled and rinsed lightly by water then cleaned manually by about 8 ppl. I pay around 18 dollars there.
And I am wondering if I should stop going to those places and do it myself. I am still not familiar with washing a car. Is it as simple as just apply those car soap in a bucket (since they are concentrated), get soap all over the car and just rinse it? Because I remember seeing a photo somewhere with a guy with about 20 bottles/sprays on the ground washing a car. Do I need like 20 different chemicals for a car wash?

The only thing you'll ever need. Well, that and wax.
