This is a great read
I appreciate all kinds of cars and I very much appreciate the time and dedication owners put into their cars as well. But when it comes to degrading the car to the point where the performance is inferior to stock, that is when I start to question because you lose the best of both worlds. It doesn't look good or perform like it's supposed to.
people are free to do whatever they want to their vehicles and i accept that and encourage that...but if an opinion is asked from other members, im not going to bite my tongue and lie, im going to give my opinion...i think people often confuse that as an attack, but its not...just my .2 cents

Those are exactly my sentiments as well. It's like saying something is stupid. Often times you're just expressing that what the person did was stupid, not that they necessarily are stupid. However, many people take it as a personal attack. Too many people just have thin skin and can't accept criticism. I guess too many people are raised though being told they're geniuses even though they're just average, so they get butt hurt and their ego gets bruised easily..
Turning an S2000 into a boulevard cruiser that can't navigate a speed bump is like putting a chastity belt on Sasha Grey. Huge waste of potential. I don't think that's tunnel vision, just common sense.
this is just my personal opinion on the issue, people can agree or disagree with me, but everyone is entitled to their opinion...if you post your vehicle on a public forum, you are obviously going to get feedback, positive and negative...if someone doesnt like a car and posts an opinion on it, it is just that, an opinion...if the OP gets butt hurt over that, maybe they shouldnt post their vehicle or perhaps grow thicker skin...im a firm believer in people shouldnt have to stifle their opinions when its a public format...i, for one, absolutely hate the whole hellflush movement, especially when its done to a car which sole purpose when it was made was to handle and handle very well...when i post comments on it, theres no animosity towards the OP or the car itself, its merely a reflection of my opinion...people are free to do whatever they want to their vehicles and i accept that and encourage that...but if an opinion is asked from other members, im not going to bite my tongue and lie, im going to give my opinion...i think people often confuse that as an attack, but its not...just my .2 cents

OTOH, souping up your Corvette doesn't bother me at all... neither does slamming your '69 Impala to the ground.
I think what people have the biggest problem with is someone else taking something they consider special and not giving it the respect it deserves.
