Greddy Oil?
Ya so i was down at our local auto parts store today to pick up some oil filters for my mustang and i noticed that they had 2 cases of greddy GR-3 oil sitting behind the counter. I asked what the deal was w/ it and he said that it got sent to the wrong place and they are going to sell it cheap to get rid of it. I looked it over and it say right on the bottle: GR-3 5W-30 is made specifically for N/A high revving engines like VTEC Hondas. It smoothes VTEC transitions and reduces friction throughout the RPM range... Now i now that the AP1 runs on 10W-30 or 5W-40 pending the temps were u are, so do you guys think that i could run it in MY00 with out having any problems? They told me that they would sell me the 2 cases for $200 even to get rid of it, which is less that what it would cost me to pick up Mobil 1 that i have usually run, OR do you guys think that i should just keep running the mobil 1 5W-40 that i have been using?

i run 5-40 cuz the manual recomends it for lower tempatures... which we have up here in canada
5w-40 is whats in the manual. Doesnt the 5 mean its lighter weight when cold (so it would start up easier in the cold) and the 40 is for when the car is fully warmed up and running (doesnt really matter the outside air, the engine will still be hot).
OP, if you're needing some oil soon, sure, I dont think it would be too bad to run the Greddy stuff since it would be fairly cheap. However, if its not a dire thing, I would just keep using whats recommended and you know works well in your car.

I currently use royal purple 10-30, but I do know people who swear by the Greddy oil. Mostly guys with ITRs with fully built motors. I stick to Royal Purple though. If you don't mind using 5w-30 then it's a good deal. Probably wouldn't hurt to try it once and sell it to friends if you don't like it.
Guys in the local tuning shop tried to sell me this Greddy oil. i was sceptical, but they say that they run their cars on it with no problems. But still, i'm hesitant and i'll stick with Mobil.
Although Greddy oil has one advantage... bragging rights
Although that may backfire
