cthree,
How long are you in Amsterdam for. I live about 30 Km away in Hilversum and work about 40 Km away in Utrecht. If you have time maybe i could meet with you.

Cthree, I was there on business and spent a week-end in the city. Best pubs and beer anywhere. People super friendly. I was there 2 weeks before Xmas and did a lot of "window" shopping. Dont forget to look down as there are lots of dogs and they love the sidewalks.

Oooo. Went there this summer. Go to the Heiniken Brewery tour. $2 for 45 minutes of all you can drink Heiniken's Premium. One of the better beers I've tasted (including German and Czeck). Go go go!

There are two Hard Rocks, one is fake. Check them out, they are near the Brewery.

cthree,

Hope you're enjoying the coffee shops .

Forget driving and rent a bicycle. It's the best way to get around and see all the sights while mixing it up with the very friendly native girls.

Hey all,

If you haven't been here, run dont walk. This place is trippin' Super friendly people, everybody speaks english perfectly, the beer is first rate and plentiful. What I can't believe is how cheap it is.

Five star gourmet dinner: $20
Excellent glass of beer: $1
First rate pot you can smoke anywhere you like: priceless

I was there 9 years ago and loved it then.
I was amazed that even the homeless people spoke pefect english and were helpful even if I didn't give them money.
I went to the fake Hard Rock place and got a t-shirt.
In certain parts of town you can buy anything. I had a guy try to sell me heroin When I said no thanks, he told me he was a cop .
