...and it is the best forum you will find when it comes to S200 info!
Learn how to use the search function, explore the FAQs and investigate the Library, welcome and enjoy.

So what color did you get, what can you tell us about your dealership experience, what do you want to add to the car, how are you plannig to use it...

Thanks very much..for your replies.

I think it will take me a little while to get used to the site and getting around and finding stuff.

This is my first car...ever...I got of of school recently and finally found a job...in long island, NY.

I wanted to buy a stick shift...and had the civic, prelude, eclipse or celica in mind......
None were really appealing....If you know what I mean...
then I saw this lady sitting in a corner...and I could'nt take my eyes or my mind off her..

My car is Sebring Silver Metallic with black leather interior.
I took it with the hard top option...actually, I liked it because of the hardtop. Its a 2001 make.
(Pardon me if the technical details I put in are not exactly the way a car enthusiast should put in..)

The dealer experience was fair and pleasant enough..
they were eager to get this car out of their showroom.within 4 hours I was driving the car home.

thanks to my cousin,He added me to his insurance plan, which greatly lowered my insurance. (I am under 25 and this is my first car)

finally, I end up paying about $600/month. (3 year lease)
prelude would have been $500/month (3 year lease)
Is this acceptable??

I Drive it to work..every day.
as for the options I would like to put in the metallic look on the dashboard for now...
once I get comfortable driving it and treating it right..I will definately explore more options...:-)

thanks for reading,

Congrats on the car!! FYI...if your car is a '01, you have Silverstone, NOT Sebring silver. Hmm...$600 a month...how much did you put down?

congrats on the purchase and welcome to the board

about the money you put down hopefully nothing on a lease...no need to put money down on something that isn't yours at the end

From what I know (not much) I think the "standard" is to put down 1K to 2K when leasing. Anything more than that doesn't make too much sense, financially. I may be wrong though.

Anyway, congrats and welcome.

Welcome aboard!

As for leasing... It makes sense for certain cars and certain people.

I know civics and accords around here are going for 189 / 259 plus tax for 39 months with 189/259 respectively at signing. If you put more up front you'd get a lower payment.

Ford has Advanced payment plans where you can pay the entire 24-36 month lease in full up front saving a couple grand. Those are probably your best bet.

Well if it was in PA 600 a month would be $636 (taxes) a month for 36 months = $22896 + 1500 down = $24369

So if you paid sticker - $32500 would your car be worth $8131 after 3 years or more than that. Probably more.

If you can't pay cash in full for your car, try getting associated with a credit union. Their rates are often the lowest.
