Last Dec I was rear-ended while driving my Miata by a Camry traveling over 50 mph faster than the heavy traffic I was stuck in. The car was totaled and for the next few days I was pretty sore, but I walked away. She didn't hit me square in the back and the bumper of the Miata rolled under my car and somehow that lifted the back of my car up on her hood until I went flying off to the side. All in all the car took the hit very well.

Greg

Do you install it outside the grill?

I've had mine installed for months. If you drive where there are bugs it is essential.

Keep in mind that this grill is not front plate compatable. If you haven't already removed your front plate, you will have to do so to use this grill.

Some have mounted it behind the S2000 grill, but this makes for a much more difficult install. I'm not sure if a behind-the-grill install will allow for the front plate either. But a front plate is ugly, remove it, you'll be happy you did.

Can you install it by just removing your front plate and reinstalling? It's illegal to remove the front plate in MD. I don't need another ticket.

David:

No, you cannot use the grill with a front plate. The plate mounting bar goes through the S2000 grill, it's incompatable.

Front plates are required in Virginia too, I've never had any problems.

Walk on the wild side, ditch the plate.
(the cops will never notice)
