Gs27
There is some stuff from Germany that lets you fill the gap then this goop eats it away.. (the new paint), leaving JUST the filled scrach behind.. I have some downstairs.. I can get u the name of it if you want.
The stuff on tv is BS..if the scratch is through the paint...u gotta fill it.

I have this stuff called GT88 that had been sitting around for over a year. It probably came out of the same vat your GS27 came out of. A couple of months ago a small rock skipped across my hood near the wipers. Just for the hell of it, I used this stuff on the small superficial scratch (less than 1/2" long). This thread reminded me of it and I just went down to look and I can't see it. Go figure!
I figured that they wouldn't work.
Xviper- so the stuff did work for you??
reason I ask these just thinking of some ways to remove those stupid chips on the front of the bumper, they're like small little bits of chips, gotta be some easier way to fix it

GT-88 is the predecessor to GS-27. It is an "As Seen On TV" product.
It works by melting the clear and some of the paint underneath and then hardening. If wax immediately after using it, the results are pretty good. You have to use it carefully, otherwise you will get a hazing effect on the clearcoat making it dull.
If the scratch/swirl is only on the clearcoat, scratch removers are fine. I recommend Scratch X or GT-88. Scratch X is ESPECIALLY good at getting swirl marks out of BLACK PAINT. GT-88 is not as mild as Scratch X.
