I agree, atleast he was honest, and he gave you his information. Did you call his insurance agency to ensure he's legit? He was honest enough to tell you , so i'd "kinda" assume he has insurance. Some idiot on my base (military) side swiped my right rear bumper, leaving a huge scuff, and took some paint off...guess what??.. there was no info left on my car.

It sucks but at least he found you, majority of people would not be so honest.

Well, I went and got an estimate after work yesterday evening and called the guy back to let him know. The estimate was $651 and some change so, the guy said he would just pay out of pocket. He was waiting on me at work this morning with a check for $700. He really is an upstanding guy and I kinda thought he would stand by his word. Glad there is still a few out there that will. Now heres hoping the check doesnt bounce

Feel lucky the driver didn't bail.

It amazes me how bad most driver are at parking and leaving parking spots.
I gave him shit about it because he drives this big ass F-350, four door, extended bed. The damn thing is about as long as a mobile home. I told him they should require you to get you cdl's to drive a beast like that.

Sorry to hear man. That sucks but you're lucky the guy was honest.

The cops usually won't come out if there's no injuries, especially when you weren't even in your car. There would be nothing to report since you yourself wouldn't even be a witness...

Under ANY other circumstances I'd be posting "why can't this guy write a better topic subject line"?

Bummer, and I hope your sideswipe resolution goes better than mine (the guy left the country).

Good to hear there are (so far) honest people.

Actually they will come out. Back in the day I had a Civic and one day at work it got a really bad door ding, I mean it looked like the person sat there and pounded their door into my car. They didn't come talk to me or anything. I called the cops because the truck was still there. I even opened the door to the truck to see if it was that truck that caused the damage and sure enough everything lined up. The police showed up, they couldn't write a report since it wasn't a moving violation but they were able to give me the information to the person who owned the truck. I proceeded to go into my building and confronted the person about it. They said it wasn't them, and that they didn't park next to my car...Interesting because their truck was right next to my car. In the end I forked the money over to fix the damage, ever since then they were on my bad side and they had to deal with my dumb immature ass (how I was then).
