Default had my car repainted practically

several weeks ago my car got keyed the whole right side and the left front side. we all know spa yellow pearl is so hard to match, the honda body shop here repainted my whole car just for kicks.

no seriously, my rear bumber was replaced awhile back and the right rear quarter pannel was too, and they didn't do quite a good job matching, so this time they repainted the whole thing yellow again.

the difference is that this might be a little bit darker...not so dark that anyone could tell, but instead of little tiny red sparkles, i have silver sparkles. no one can tell unless they get in microscopic range. But in the end...i was quite impressed with the new paint job! after a year of owning i had some swirl marks all over, but now it's like brand spanking new from japan! wow im happy. but never did find out who keyed my car (twice)

my rear bumber that was repainted the first time was lighter than the original color. they told me that they'd try their best to match the original, i said well if ya can't get close to it, at least dont let it get lighter like the bumber did.

to be honest i can't really tell if it is darker or not, today i opened the door and the parts that weren't painted match the yellow that was redone. go figure..it was just a cloudy day that i picked the car up and the "first impression" kind of got stuck on my mind.

I said they repainted my car, "practically". basically i know that the whole car has been repainted because i know how the original paint looks like, and i have checked the whole car..even the hood where it was in perfect shape before. they told me that they would blend the doors and things like that, but i guess it was too hard so they had gone ahead and buffed or sanded the original paint down and did a 3 (?) coat paint job.

i knew the manager of the service department for honda pretty well, he had helped me plenty of times before and gotten me out of alot of trouble...heh. So anyways, to sum things up....they repainted my whole car, the cost was 1800 approx. if i were to have my car completely repainted by a different color, i know for sure that it would double this total. (oh but i ended up paying 100 for deductable and the rest was taken care of by my insurance. So, i basically had my car repainted for 100 bucks. good paint, too)

Anyways, the over all finish was superb. if i didn't know the guy, he wouldn't have helped me out and could easily left the car looking tacky with one side different from the other. So im happy and always park where people can see my car, so that it wouldn't get "touched" in a bad way

I'll bet it is many times thicker than the OEM and may not chip as easily.
