Default Had some fun today

I was driving around today killing time until I met my mom for lunch. I drove on this road that I drive one almost every day. I looked to my left and saw a small subdivision that was under construction but no one was there (I had never noticed it before). So I busted a U turn and drove through it. There were no house built yet. Just roads. No people working. Nothing. It was deserted. In the back corner, out of site of the main road, there was a big square block. I thought that it would be a good place to have some quick fun until it was time to meet mom. I tried to leave 3 times but kept going back for more. It was a blast. I was even pushing the car all the way it was still a blast. I had to turn around a few times and go different ways around the block. It felt like a giant go kart track.

Be careful. Back when I lived in Sunnymead California I use to do the same thing quite often, because there was always new construction going on somewhere in the area. It was all good fun until on day I went around a corner I'd been around a dozen times before, only to find a small stream of water running across the road. Wasn't much, but it was enough to get me into a spin which curbed the car and almost completely removed the Ghia's front suspension. I was just a kid at the time, but it's the kind of lesson you (thankfully) never forget. Have run, but be careful.

It's the things you can't anticipate, or overlook, that get you into trouble. When you're on the track you have corner workers to alert you of any hazzards you can't see, but on the street it's totally up to you to either *know* what's coming up or slow down enough to handle the unexpected when it happens. LOL, as much as you enjoyed the "adventure," I think you should seroiusly consider autocrossing. Have you ever tried it or considered it?

first of all, take it to a track

but if you're going to do this..

always pre-drive the road at least once each time you drive it

i would suggest avoiding residential areas, anywhere with blind curves etc.

and again,

take it to a track

just be careful

Thanks again for the advice. I pre drove it. It's basically a square and you can see around the corners because there is no houses or trees or grass. I'm too afraid to really push it for now. I would love to take it to a track and see what I can learn. Thanks again.
