Default Hangs slightly in first gear.......?

Anybody notice first gear hanging up or sticking a little bit intermittantly when going from first into second? I've experimented at different rev's, hot or cold, etc. and it's just completely random. Not a big deal, but not as smooth as I'd like it to be on occasion. Thx.

BTW, it's an '05 with about 60,000 miles.

Hmm, never noticed that. I have a little grief going into second from time to time but never taking it out of first.

Hmm....................never had that issue at all. Normally I can shift out of first immediately after pushing the clutch in with no problems, but occasionally it feels like it wants to "stick" in first gear for a split second before coming out. I have noticed that if you go into first at just the wrong time, it will grind when coming to a stop (5mph or so). I've found the key is to put it into first either while slowing down around 10mph, or wait until fully stopped.

I get the typical 2nd and 3rd gear issues only when cold. I've learned to shift very slow at low revs going into 2nd to avoid the grind, and shift very slow into 3rd at higher revs to avoid the extreme notchiness (only when cold).

It's nothing too problematic, I just like it to be smooth and consistent during "spirited driving."

Check your master cylinder. Also, when you clutch, try immediately pulling it out of gear . if you wait a little bit, it WILL hang up.
