how do you think the Mugen tops insulate (sounds and temp) compared to OEM???
it's not insulated...if your going for insulation OEM is best way to go...plus there is no way i would spend the $3000+ on the Mugen and put it through the winter

Plus Mugen has a big blind spot (no wraparound to the rear window). For function, OEM is the best for winter.
Mugen rear isn't glass, either (so no defrost).

OEM is the cheapest and very driver-friendly with the defroster and large rear view window. Insulation is great as it cuts down on wind noise and keeps the car toasty during the cool winter and cools down a bit during those hot summers.

I imagine the Mugen HT is similar to the soft-top as insulation may be less and the view is about the same (small window). I'll know by next week.

I went through this exact same issue, because I live in Colorado and the winters can get pretty cold even though it is beautiful outside.

After all my research I chose the OEM hardtop.
Reasons:
- cost
- I think it looks amazing, like a factory coupe instead of like a porsche borster with their little rear windows.
- only weighs 44lbs which isn't bad at all
- rear defroster, which is great especially in the cold.
- cuts noise down ALOT, I drove my S2k 2200 miles round trip to texas with it on, it was great, and if you have an aftermarket stereo, the acoustics are much better than with soft top.
- Color matching is easier, because it comes from the Honda factory and goes through the same paint process, I have heard of little differences, but mine is matched perfectly.

I would highly recommend you get it installed at a reputable honda dealership.

That is my personal opinion and my .02

I hope that helps. Take care
