Default Hard top anybody?

I was wandering if getting a hard top is really worth it. Do I really need it now since the "02's" have the new rear glass window? Does the hard top cut out some of the noisies? DO you think i shold buy? Thanks for your help.

Hamada-san,

I'm getting the hardtop installed today. For security reasons, I thought it was a necessary purchase. It won't protect my car from everything, but I just feel more secure. Maybe it's because I just got the car, I get really worried when I park it in public. It's a rare car , so it does attract attention. The fact that it is a nice looking hardtop helped me make the decision as well.

I'll let you know about the noise factor, but I think I read here in the past that the hardtop doesn't do much to make it any quiet.

I have owned a Hard Top for a year now.
It make a BIG difference on sound!
This is now a quite coup, changes the look from behind dramatically too since the top look big and bold with the wrap around rear window...

I LOVE it and I live in Atlanta where I only "need" it for cold weather about one month a year...

I have the hard top and the difference in noise is amazing. You can actually hear the OEM radio, not that you will be impressed with the sound. I can really hear the clutch buzz, guess its time for the tsb.

I'm just curious as to why some of you in areas with very nice climates choose to have a hardtop? Do you prefer a coupe to a convertible and this gives you the benefit of driving an S2000 coupe? I was just surprised to see so many Californians with a hardtop. I've decided that when I get my S2000 in a month or so to keep the civic as a beater instead of getting a hardtop.

Hardtop is just a personal choice unless you live in a cold or thief prone climate. I got my jeep wrangler 8 years ago for those reasons. But after a year or two, i couldn't stand to not have the convertible top on. so i never used the hardtop and it became an expensive paper weight.
If its music your after put in a better stereo.

I ether have hard top on or top down. I don't really like the look of soft top. Plus it's really hard to see through plastic window when it's raining. (My S2000 is daily driven)

#1 reason i got the hardtop - it looks awesome
#2 reason " " - rear defroster

I don't care what anyone says, its so worth every penny just in looks alone. It morphs the car so much when you put it on, get it you won't be disappointed
