I see that the handa accessory on-line dealer wants about $2800 and i could drive there saving shipping. any cheaper deals out there? also how long does it take to install? i assume you need one extra set of hands but i read that it was very lite, like 44 lbs.

It takes a couple of hours to install - my tech was ultra-careful and took maybe 4 hours or so. I can't complain, since it fits perfectly and there's not a scratch anywhere to be found.

I got my S back with the hardtop installed yesterday.
Sound:
- The hardtop doesn't silence the noise, but it has gotten quiet inside.
- Audio can be heard much better.
Looks:
- Blends in very well with the overall body design. You wouldn't think it's a detachable.
Views:
- Surprisingly good view in the rear corners. Lane changes are much easier than the softtop.

I would love to see a white with a hardtop. Still can't decide whether to take the black/black coming in April or wait for the white/red to show up in June. I just hate red period and its the only thing holding me back from making up my mind. Can't figure out if I am going to get sick of that interior.
Thanks for the quick reply Jonas.
I drove a MY00 last weekend and it was silver/red like yours. It was AWESOME...no doubt. Much better looking than I expected. It was also my first S2000 experience...need I say more.
Now that I am hooked I have to find a way to sell my 2002 Z28 that I just bought. =)
Wanted to own some muscle before they were all gone but learned the lesson the hard way. The build quality is horrible on that car and after owning two other Hondas I can't see why I didn't check the S2000 before purchasing. Might have something to do with it being $10k more. After driving it though I find it well worth the extra doja.
As far as the daily is concerned I still have my baby, 91 Accord EX, and the S2000 will be a fun/weekend ride. Plan to keep her to less than 5k miles a year for sure. I never see white ones around which is why I was interested in seeing a pic and I will definitely be ordering a hardtop. My first choice was silver/black, then black/black; but now I am intrigued by the white for some reason. Pretty much ruled out the black because of maintenance concerns but my Accord is black and I love Honda black. Its fun being so indecisive.
Take care.

so if it takes 4 hours to install, it is not something that you can say, its raining outside so I am going to put it on.
it is more like something you would put on for a couple months. Or does it only take 4 hours the first time, and the
rest of the times something more reasonable like half an hour?
thanks
i love s2ki, mad info on many types of cars

for the money, i'd buy rims and exhaust first (that's what i'm currently saving for). here in la, i drive everywhere with the top down, to and from work, cold nights, mountain driving, everything. IMO, the car looks better topless than with a hardtop.
the size of the glass window is smaller than what it had been with the plastic window, making your blind spots even bigger. not a good thing if you drive with the top up often.
