Default Hard Top Pro/Con

Hello, i am new to the forum and i've been lookng into the S2000 along with a few other cars for my new ride. All the pros of the S2K sounds great (i.e. go-cart like handling, high reving and great looks. But i do have some concern about in-cabin noise. I too love the engine music but sometimes, would it be unbearable especially in the stop and go traffic of LA?
So the hard top came into mind. My thoughts were, less in cabin noise, better aerodynamics and improved saftey. I did a search on this forum and most of the post have positive review for the HT. But as i was thumbing through old magazines, i found an older issuse of Can and Driver that talked about the S2K HT. It is stated that cabin noise is increased and the cabin is tighter when the HT is on.
Is this true? heres the link
http://www.caranddriver.com/xp/Caranddrive...?keywords=S2000

Anyhow, i just want answers to a few simple question.
- Does the hard top make the cabin more quite and peacful while driving?
- Does the HT improve gas/mileage?
- Does the HT improve saftey, theft, rollover, etc?
- Does the rear windsheild of the HT improve rearview visibility, elimanate blind spots?
- Is the HT a worthwhile investment?

Thanks,
Nick

the rear windshield is much bigger and there is almost no more blind spots. the only thing about the hardtop is that installation can be hard if you don't know what you're doing.

There is an initial installation kit that must be fitted. It can be a do it yourself job (takes about 3 hours) or you can pay the dealer to do it. The kit is completely invisible once on and stay there permanently. Putting the top on and taking it off is a two person job unless you build yourself a hoist of some kind above where you park it. To remove it and put it on is about a 2 minute job.

Actually, it's aluminum.

From a rollover perspective, it's gotta be safer than the soft top, but it's not as safe as a real coupe.
