Default Hard top question

Once you have your hard top installed for the first time. And now you decide to go topless. How difficult is to put it back? How much time average? Any chances for making any damage to the paint or other body structure?
Thanks in advise

It's very difficult to get back on, right pain in the arse. You need 2 ppl do it and be very careful as it would be easy to damage the paint work if it slipped/dropped.

Make a hoist and you can do it yourself:

I have taken my top off and on more than once by myself w/ no hoist etc...
Just akward and something I wouldn't suggest.
It isn't hard at all, takes a matter of seconds, and you should use 2 people.

My experience of doing it tells me your talking

Please don't attempt to do it on your own, you will most likely damage your car (that is to the guy who started this post)

So with 2 people is it still a PITA to put the hardtop on and off? Just curious as I have a top on order.

Same here. I've put the HT on and off my S twice now by myself and it's really not a big deal unless you're a clumsy oaf . Used to do it with my MR2 Spyder too. The hardest part is extracting yourself out of the car after you've set the top down on it. Not much room behind those seats even when they're pushed all the way forward. I'm 5' 10" and about 170 lbs and if I were any bigger or less limber I don't think I'd be able to do it that way.

Otherwise, with two people it should only be a one minute job putting on and about 30 seconds taking back off. Piece of cake.
