Default Hardtop

Heh guys,
Just received my BB hardtop from honda, which is still sitting at the dealer. Went to inspect it and found some abrasion to the cleacoat in clusters all around. Is this normal for a brand new hardtop? I know black is especially hard to keep perfect, but this is a brand new piece. They told me they could polish it out, but don't know if i want to risk lettiing them handling it in and out etc..

What do you guys think? Keep it, and let them polish it? Or get them to order another one, which they say they don't know how long it will take because Canada has no more in stock.

No major damage....just a lot of scuffs and swirls is how i can best describe it. Plus it is black. Wondering if the foam and bubble wrap rubbing against it has anything to do with it? Also, just got off the phone with the parts guy and he says there are no more left in north america and getting another one from japan will be a 4-5month wait. Now, they're offering me a reimbursement of a hundred bucks.

thats all? $100. why cant they have a body shop buff and polish all of it out?

kinda the reason why i bought a used one that was local to me despite that i'm paying to have it painted. Can't wait til i get my car back from the body shop in a couple days

Anyhow, they're delivering it to me tomorrow with 100 off. Will take some pics and post it as well. Maybe i'm being too anal about it, but i payed 4200 for the piece and it should be flawless.

hey hey,,,,,i'm from canada so that's 4200 cdn. HTG is 3000 US plus 500 for shipping outside 600mi..not to mention across the border! Plus, nobody can get a hold of him as of late. But, yes, I still feel VERY SAD about it.

damn that pricer seems heavy i got quoted quite abit less but anyway you have a right to be angry...you bought a brand new hardtop, anything less than perfect is not acceptable, however if its just a bit of swirling its no big deal and can be corrected very easy its run of the mill.
