Hardtop discontinued?

Default Hardtop discontinued?

I just called the local Honda dealership for a co-worker to ask about the price/availability on a hardtop. The parts guy said it wasn't listed in the system anymore and went to talk to the manager. Neither of them could find it so he took my name and number and said he would have to investigate. Well about an hour later now, he just called me back and said that he called the main parts hub for the area and they said that Honda has discontinued the manufacturing and sales of hardtops for the S2000 and that they aren't able to get them anymore. Has anyone heard anything like this I already have one so it doesn't affect me but I just think it's strange that they would do this.

I heard the same thing...

even online places like hardtopguy dont have em listed anymore..

*edit* nm hardtopguy still has em listed on the site here

Contact Hardtopguy. They would know for sure. Still listed on their web site last time I looked (couple weeks ago).

Edit: just looked again. Hard tops shown on the site. Look under Accessories and then Exterior Accessories for your MY. The hard tops are not in the hard top kits/parts section.

There will always be Mugen though. Looks better anyway IMO.

It "may" look better but....

1. Plastic rear window
2. Costs more
3. Unpainted
4. Unfinished raw interior
5. Made of fiberglass (less durable then aluminum)
6. No rear defroster
7. Long wait times to get one


I think that the OEM fit and finish is way better than the Mugen personally and these are the reasons I bought OEM. That's just me though.

to add i actually think the OEM hardtop lines do flow much better than the mugen.

In some of the posts regarding the 2006 they mention a new hardtop.

Come to your own conclusions regarding your response from dealer ...
