hardtop install question

Question about the hardtop subharness connector..what is it used for? and is it needed to install the hardtop?

thanks thats what I thought, but I wasn't 100% sure..ithis is my first hard top install and wasn't sure if it was needed or not..will be getting it later though.

I believe it also disables the switch for putting the softtop up by mistake.
