Default Hardtop installation kit confusion HELP

I am having the hardest time finding a installation kit for a hardtop. I can get the hardtop in my color but I need to buy and installation kit. How much is the kit if my car is a yr2000 VIN JHMAP1148YT001607 and what is the difference between that kit and the other years. If it is just the defroster I can live without that (i cant even see out of the damn vinyl now!!) Can I get away with using the other years? Thanks in advance for any and all help.

how much did you source the parts for you 00? Did you end up getting just the catchers? I am new at this and as you know its a big investment thanks for all the help.

I bought a complete hardtop setup (minus the defroster stuff) from Flagstaff Honda for $2700 shipped + insured. All of my stuff came w/ the h/t.

I see where you are getting the h/t from. Ask the seller of the top to KINDLY pull the catchers for you. It will take them just minutes. Then all you will need are strikers and I know where to get a set of them.

The dealer will tell you that they don't have a ht for your year ('00, in my case, the '01). Actually what they don't have is the wiring for the defroster in the kit, the hardtop will fit all years (I have an '06 top). You don't need those wires if you don't plan to install the defroster. Save the wiring if you plan to install the defroster later, because they can be used to duplicate part of the wiring of the later cars.

An additional point, the installation screws for the hardtop side-catchers are longer than the screws holding the corresponding part in your car now. If you are buying the hardtop from another owner, you basically need to park your own car alongside and trade the screws. Also, the side brushes (to keep leaves and stuff out of your car's innards when the top is down), is different and also should be traded if you want a perfect installation.
