Default Hardtop installed today at dealer.

The HT looks fantastic. There is a lot ratting when going over bumps. Is something not properly installed or is this normal ? I called the dealer and told them I would drive the car this weekend to help locate the noise sources. It sounds like the noise is coming from behind the drivers seat. Could be from the convertible top. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Take it back and have them adjust it. It shouldn't make any noise.

My husband did the install on both of ours and he said he doesn't know how they could F that up. He says there's nothing to rattle. He wonders if they dropped something.

The latches on the softtop latched down? The defroster harness connected? Both levers locked in place?

I velcro'd the soft top strikers shut to eliminate the latch rattle. I used the kind of velcro straps used to bind electrical cords... couple bucks at the local electrical store.

Is there a physical difference in the design of the hardtop strikers as opposed to the regular convertible top strikers?

I get some creaking and rattling with my hardtop, but it's only when I'm driving on uneven roads (during the winter that's just about all roads with snow and ice on them).

When I'm driving on regular pavement the car is silent...

I believe so. I have to ask my husband, who did the installs on ours (but he's asleep), but I think changing the strikers is part of the install.
