Default hardtop makes u faster?

for those with a hardtop... does it feel faster. more aerodynamic and less resistance? cutting thru the air...

I've heard/read that wind noise is drastically cut. Less wind noise from air traveling over a textured surface vs a smooth surface, but I think the windshield being more vertical than other cars is what increases our coefficient of friction the most.

a closed cockpit is better aero wise. the flow around the windscreen, over the seats, roll hoops, etc is real messy. a hardtop might have slightly lower skin friction drag than the convertible, but most of your drag is pressure and separation based anyway.

you would have to be haulin pretty good for it to matter, and there are certainly better ways to go faster for if you have 4 grand to spend

youd have better luck pumping up your tires to 40 psi since rolling resistance is almost double the coefficient of drag.

- soft-top UP = .38
- soft-top DOWN = .46
