Default HARDTOP: OEM vs. SEIBON

Hey guys..unfortunately my soft top got slashed when i was at school and now i'm thinking of getting myself a hardtop but i can't decide between the oem or the seibon (mugen style) hardtop....i'm leaning towards the seibon hardtop but since it is fiberglass with a carbon fiber layer..i worry if it will be safe or will it make a lot of noise or will it creek the longer you have it on...the thing is that my car is a daily driver and i'm running on buddyclub race spec coils and 18" wheels (the ride is stiff like crazy) so i'm worried that the long time use on the seibon hardtop will make it start creeking...and also by getting the oem one, will i be secured from all these problems or will it be the same thing as i speculate about the seibon hard top?

Sorry for all the questions guys but i hope someone can answer them for me

OEM is pretty quiet as far as rattles and creaks. The folded top below can make some rattles though regardless of the hardtop. You sound like you're more interested in practicality than style though. I'd recommend an OEM. Fit is guaranteed to be perfect, the value will hold if you sell it later, it comes with all the mounting hardware necessary, it has an integrated rear defrost, the rear window is bigger and has less of a blind spot, and the inside is finished and insulated so not only does it look much nicer than raw fiberglass or CF, it's quieter too.

The finishing inside the OEM top is top notch.

I have the Seibon but my inside is cf. I only got it because the OEM looks ugly, IMO, on the suzuka blue. Since you have a black I would just get the OEM one. Black with OEM hardtop looks nice and so would the cf. In your situation I would lean toward OEM. I am very happy with my Seibon but it's up to you.

I would go with the Seibon, simply because it looks better. Especially on black, but that is just my cup of tea.

I think both the OEM and the Seibon tops look great, but lately I have been leaning towards getting a seibon and painting it sebring to match my car and just leave behind the windows in CF. My vote goes to seibon, but you can't go wrong with OEM.
