Default Hardtop Question...Please help?

Hello All,

I recently bought a hardtop about 3 months ago for my S...and I took it off today and went to put the soft top up and I found that the soft top seemed to struggle on its way up and then stop with a 1 to 1.5 inch gap from the top of the windshield...it seemed like something was pulling it back or that it was stuck on something...I checked and double checked and everything looked okay...then with some force I snapped the soft top on with some manual force. Has anyone had this problem? Is this due to the soft top sitting down underneath the hardtop for such a long time or did they do something wrong when they installed the hardtop (I don't remember them touching the softtop at all except for putting it down).

Please advise...thanks in advance!

If the top has been down and folded for some time the creases can take a while to stretch back out making the top harder to move all the way forward. If you were able to latch it without too much trouble it's probably just that. There's really nothing with the hardtop attachment hardware that should impact the soft top operation.

same thing happened to me too. how cold was the weather? if the soft top sits folded for a long while, this is natural.
