Default HardTop rattles and bangs

Just traded in Mk 2 and purchased Mk 3 nice car but hardtop rattles and bang over anything other than smooth road surface. Cures anyone before taking it to a main dealer?

Again. Wrong forum. This is the library -- a place to post reference material on frequently asked questions.

Sounds like you need to make some adjustments to the mounting hardware or tighten up the latches. Sometimes the mounting screws in the front latches can loosen. Also, some have had sucess with adding some thin soft tubing (think aquarium tubing) over the latch hooks. Rear hadware may be out of adjustment also or it may have just been a lousy initial installation.
