Default Hardtop or Roll Bar???

I am downhill every week with my friends, and I watched a lot crash vedio last week, little scare right now LOL
thinking to protech my head, but not sure what should I have, a hardtop or roll bar, cause I am not a racer so I dont need a 6 or 7 point bar, 4 or 5 should be enough.
but the only reason I am like the hardtop is it will give more security, our car is tooooooooooooo easy to be stolen.......and I dont have full cover insurance , that's why I am thinking to get a hardtop.

what's your opinion?

Well i think that in addition to making the car more safe, driving and parked, it reduces noise, i think it makes the car slightly more stiff over bumps and such. And it makes the car very attractive. Hardtop all the way

While there are other benefits provided by a hardtop, rollover protection would be nowhere near the level of a well-built rollbar. Although, I've heard that a rollbar that sits too close to your head (within 6in.) could be very dangerous with factory seatbelts. IMO, a rollbar, race seat, and harness would be your best bet. It would also be cheaper than getting a hardtop.

I got a Bride ZETA II and Sparco racing harness before, feel not confortable, it's still me daily driver, so I am selling my seat right now and hope I can find some cheap hardtop later.

Hard Top all the way, your head will get crushed in a bad accident if your not wearing a helmet with a roll cage....yes even with the pading surrounding the rollcage you'll still crack your skull.

FYI, If you are using a racing harness you definitely need a rollbar that is higher than your head. The harness will hold you in position, so if your head is above the OEM roll hoops you're looking at a broken neck. The OEM seatbelt allows the upper body to slide so a rollover accident is less likely to be fatal.

We're talking about a roll bar, not a roll cage. And that's why I recommended that he get a race seat with harness, which would keep him in place in the event of a rollover.

It a good thing that the S2k got the highest saftey rating from the NHTSA for rollover resistance (5 star).
