Default Hardtop Storage Stand & Cover?

Any news as to when or if Honda will have this stand and cover available in North America?

Thanks,

I saw one in the showroom floor at one of the local dealers here about 3 weeks ago. It's an awful price to pay for a few pieces of aluminum tubing. Go look at one, buy the tubing and get a friend who weld do it.

Maybe there's a forum member who could make the equivalent and market it at a more reasonable price. btw, what is the 'too high' price?

Also, a few weeks ago, in response to a similar thread I mentioned a hardtop storage cart that I saw in an ad that was selling for $169 (including cover). It's not made specifically for the s2000 hardtop, but if it works for the mercedes top maybe it could work on ours. I don't have access to a scanner but there's a photo in the Performance Products ad in the July issue of European Car. Last time I checked it wasn't on their website (www.performanceproducts.com) but they were under construction then.

I think I will try a little PVC (Sch 40) to make a stand and then a cover sewn by my wife first - maybe $20. Waiting for top to get here.

Don't know if this will help. I'm in Calgary and the price was about $650.00 Cdn. I didn't get a price on the cover. I think Cracker's got the right idea. I just hang mine from the garage ceiling above the open garage door - it's safe there and doesn't take up much space.

hanging it is a good idea-
how do you hang it?
(i assume that you are careful not to damage any rubber seals)

Ken, I was at Lynnwood Honda yesterday and asked about the availibility of the hard top stand. They still don't have any word from Honda when it will be coming. They know I'm interested and will keep me informed. I just picked up my hard top two weeks ago. Finally took it off the car yesterday. Right now it's laying in my garage as carefully stored as I can make it. I've heard that the price of the stand will be around $650 - don't know for sure though. Would be nice if we could get it for less. Maybe a group buy from one dealership in our area when they are available??? If you hear anything, let me know.
