Conclusion:
Don never buy from hardtopguy.com. They got every bad after sales service even they are in the wrong by misplaceing my item.
Jeff with HTG FTW!
i have always received what i ordered when i have been able to get through, but the past few times i've tried to order parts he has never returned my calls. I have since moved to other vendors to order my OEM parts.

A couple of years ago, during a blizzard, Jeff personally delivered a new differential to me, trekking through the snow, on foot... no, not really. He did, however, send me a hard top: he sent it on time, with everything, etc. It was great doing business with him.
If you weren't kidding I would have believed you.
I had a problem a few months ago. It was all in communication or lack thereof for a part that was apparently was going to be shipped but in fact wasn't until a week and half later. I knew he wasn't trying to screw me I just wanted an update on where my stuff was. However that little hiccup doesn't much detract from the other great experiences I have had with him. He is an excellent vendor and an asset to the community.
just throwing my 2 cents in, Jeff pricematched an oem lip for me and was super cool about the whole process, I'll definitely be buying from him again.
on a side note, you also have to wonder if this is just a spammer.

When dealing with small companies and outfits that are basically one-man operations, you have to expect every once in a while things will go wrong. The important thing is what is done to correct these problems when they do happen and Jeff has always been good about that on those (rare) occasions where things don't go to plan.
If you want minimal risk of problems with your order, always order on-line from places like NOPI or Jegs. But don't expect much in the way of personal service and don't look to the big vendors for low volume parts from smaller tuners.
I've done business with Jeff and with other small vendors who sponsor our site. Always had great service and on the rare occasion when a vendor slipped up I was able to get things quickly resolved through some good patient communications. You might try that as a substitute for your parinoia. We aren't all out to cheat aisan.
