I looked on S2ki, but the link to V1 mounting was not working...

so, I gather there are some usable fuses in the interior box that can take care of this...

Any advice on how to do a first rate job (ground points, etc)...

thanks!

Under the dash, the fuze box has 3 "plugins" one is hot always, one is hot while ign is on, one is hot with the headlights.
I hooked mine to the hot with ingition, grounded it to a nearby bolt, and ran the wire up over the dash to the detector.
some one will be able to tell you which plugin is which, I dont recall at the moment

For those that ran the cord up to the "window shades", did you have to pull the a-pillar trim off? Also, does the fuse box accept a blade connector, or how does one splice into that fuse?

hmmmm, just noticed the broken link. not sure where it was linked to or where to obtain the original files. the link is pointing to http://216.62.52.233/v1mount.htm, but not even the IP's root page comes up, but it does respond to a ping.

If you've got any pictures or would like to write up something to be posted on s2ki.com about hardwiring the V1, please email me. Thanks!

i used the wire clip and jacked onto the big yellow wire uner the driver dash. not wrapped in yellow tape, but yellow wire. it's hot only when ignition is in II.

I wouldn't use a wire clip. I would use one of the extra connections in the fuse panel so you are less likely to damage something. You will love your V1. I can hardly drive without it!

the v1mount page is mine... sorry some bad guys decided to use it as leech site to store 500mb of crappy japanese cartoon files!! I took it down because I made them mad when I killed the ftp side... I will try and repost it to my providers web page asap.
