This isn't about hitting your head. From the pictures, the harnesses don't appear to be mounted high enough. In the event of a rollover you'll be risking spinal compression.

If you roll over while using the harness setup in the pictures, your bare head will help protect the top of the factory roll hoop trim from getting scratched. At least until your neck breaks because of your torso being constrained from moving by the harness. If your intention is to protect the roll hoop trim, you're on the right path. If, however, you want to protect yourself during a rollover, it's recommended you either keep the factory 3-pt with the roll hoops, or install rollover protection with any 4/5/6pt harness.

Did you even bother to look at the pictures before commenting? Please take a look and explains how I could hit my head on this.
??? i guess you dint read my post very clearly. i said your is just a harness bar. it is NOT like you have a roll bar to hit your head on. which means you DONT have a roll bar to bust your head when you get into a wreck. i was implying it is not that much of a death trap.

this is also very true too. however in a DD, you could hit you head on the roll bar in a car wreck. or just put some padding on the bar.

I'm just reading this and it's very good. My local track club will be asking for a harness bar for full track sessions from now on. However they won't be require the harness in half/short track sessions. I was looking for info for harness bar. But my concer was only the looks of the bar in the car and the convertible top movement with the bar.

I did't realize that the harness bar will be a death trap. It makes perfect sense. It's a no no for me. I guess I will only running half/short sessions from now on.
