harness and roll bar

Default harness and roll bar

ok so i have a set of 5 point harness and i was wondering how/where the two shoulder straps should be mounted. if you have it done one your car can u please post up some pics.


also i am looking to get a simple roll bar, i dont want a roll cage or anything like that, pics of this or websites that sell these would be appreciated

They should be mounted to a roll bar! There is no good or safe way to mount the shoulder straps otherwise.

At the moment, your only options for roll bars are used, custom, or JDM. (There are no JDM bars commonly available for the S2000 that meet US track organization specs, as far as I know.)

Where are you? In the southeast, Kirk Racing products is in Alabama. http://www.kirkracing.com/ They do four point bars to full cages.

In California, Dick Drenske is highly recommended.

According to discussion on the Pantera forum, anchor points for shoulder harness should be as close to shoulder height as possible. Too high may allow you to slide up and too low may break your collar bone.

I agree, I have heard that too low will also induce spinal compression in an accident.

Yes, OK, I was assuming any real roll bar would include a harness bar.

I know all about the hight of the shoulder straps but is there a harness bar or some way to mount them that I can buy? I have been looking but haven't come up with anything..

People use these cars for racing there has to be a way.


Any info on the roll bar

As I said before, "used, custom, or JDM". There are many threads about these various options in the racing and competition sub-forum. I would check there if I were you. But don't just ask without reading the old threads.
