The time portion starts when the car is first sold either to you if new or to whomever the initial buyer happened to be. The mileage starts at the same time.

yea my contract says date starts the day i bought the car.

anyways... the guys at honda care are some of the rudest people i have ever dealt with over the phone. talking to me like a was a 3rd grader. jesus christ.

also... if i get my shocks replaced under warranty, and the tech screws up the install and completely screws up my left rear wheel alignment... I HAVE TO PAY for it.

I cancelled mine at year 4 of ownership and one year into the Honda Care contract.
It took over 3 months for the refund to arrive. I got over 1/2 of it back.

It's generally a good idea to read what you're signing. Let this be a VERY inexpensive lesson on that point. Know what you're buying (7/70 or 10/106) before signing the papers.

This is directed at everyone who reads this, not just the OP: read what you're signing. Don't get caught up in the moment and rely on what a salesperson says. What's in writing generally trumps anything verbal. Written is there forever; "he said, she said" don't cut it. There's an old saying: "When someone with experience meets someone with money, the usual result is that the person with money gains experience and the person with experience gains money." Or something to that effect,

Remember what they say about 'assume.'

I now yield the soapbox...

What was your extended warranty: 7/70 or what?

I'd argue that one. Otherwise, I'd just have someone else align it (someone competent of course).

With our programs Alignments are normal maintenance. Is that what Honda is telling you?

its not that im asking for free alignment. but when alignment is thrown off because a faulty part has to be replaced under warranty... it should be covered. do i sue honda if my tires wear abnormally after changing the shocks? they replace seals, washers, gaskets, etc... how is this any different? if the part was not faulty, i wouldnt have my alignment thrown off for no reason.
